The Southwest

The Southwest region of the IMLS-funded Regional Training of Trainers project addresses audiovisual needs of four cultural centers in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma. It supports regional networking and resource sharing in the region. Due to COVID-19, this region’s project training and workshops are occurring remotely.  Project partners participate in online training webinars, receive training kits and regional digitization and film inspection kits, develop a preservation plan with a CAW mentor, and digitize a small sample from their collection. The project also supports the translation of select CAW resources into Spanish.

This project is funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and directed by the Community Archiving Workshop, a project of the Association of Moving Image Archivists.  Some project resources and support is provided by the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums.
